Harvey Homes joins forces with local fire service

Harvey Homes owns a derelict house on Towers Road in Poynton which is currently awaiting planning permission. The Poynton Fire Service asked if they could ‘borrow’ the property for a training event, and the Harvey Homes team was more than happy to oblige!

It gave the trainee fire officers an opportunity to test their equipment, practice their skills in a challenging and real-life scenario and improve their CPR skills.

Jon Woolley, Station Manager at Poynton, commented “This type of training is designed to enhance our crew’s effectiveness, test our readiness and resources, improve our firefighter and community safety, and ensure that we are ready for any real-life incidents that occur in the area. It gives our retained and on-call fire crews an opportunity to put their theoretical knowledge to the test.

“We don’t get many opportunities to train in ‘real-life’ settings, so we are very grateful to the Harvey Homes team for allowing us to do this.”

Tom Ratcliffe, Managing Director of Harvey Homes said: “We’re always happy to help the local communities which we serve, and we were delighted to be able to help the local fire service.

“While we’re very hopeful that this site on Towers Road will soon be home to new residents, for now, it is great that it is being put to good use!”

The plot on Towers Road in Poynton is currently awaiting planning permission, with Harvey Homes open to enquiries from prospective homeowners, or individuals looking to buy land with planning permission already secured.
